Admission Procedure

Admission at the Child Mental Haven is straight forward. Admission follows the normal procedure whereby a patient comes to the Child Mental Haven as an outpatient case and the specialty doctor feels that it will be in the best interest of the child’s health that he/she be admitted for further treatment and observation.

The parents are well informed of the child prognosis and why its important for the admission for them to give consent for admission. No child can be admitted without approval from the parent/guardian.

Eligibility and admissions:

Child Mental Haven, being a children’s facility, only admit patients who are below 19 years as inpatients. The child’s admission is based medical needs at the time he/she is being admitted.

Upon admission, the child is placed under the care of an appropriate and experienced consultant.
